Proposed Beloit casino project edges forward; snowfall didn't do much to stem drought; wolf hunting nearly done; more state briefs

With only mild opposition being heard locally, plans by the Ho-Chunk tribe to build a casino and hotel in Beloit appear to be moving forward. Also, while hunters in Wisconsin and Minnesota wrap up wolf seasons that killed nearly 300 animals, Michigan lawmakers took a vote that moves that state closer to a hunt. Plus stories about dogs being poisoned in Columbus, a double-fatal near Waukesha and a new scholarship at UW-Stout.
