Jan Thatcher Adams has had her share of interesting experiences during her life. She started a free clinic on the University of Minnesota’s west bank while she was still a medical student. She performed as a clown on a tour of Russia with Dr. Patch Adams, the physician made famous in a movie starring Robin Williams. She started a charity, and has been recognized for her work in the community. It’s an impressive resume, but Adams discovered a while back that if you want to be a published author, it helps to have someone famous in your life.Word count: 654
