Editorial: Proceed with caution with camera network

Talking this week about the security cameras Farmington police have at their disposal, sergeant Jim Constantineau made a reference to Big Brother, the all-seeing government from George Orwell’s 1984. It’s an image that might come to readers’ minds as they read the story. For many, the idea police could be watching even when they’re not on patrol will be distasteful no matter the scale.
