Laker comeback falls flat

A furious comeback fell short for the Detroit Lakes boys’ hockey team, as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines left Kent Freeman Arena with their first win of the season in a 9-8 victory Thursday night. The Lakers stormed back with a four-goal third period, which chopped into an 8-4 deficit, but the Wolverines (1-17) kept one step ahead of the home team, despite being outshot by a 36-22 margin.
