DL holds off on naming alderman

The agenda at the annual City Council meeting last night included appointing a new alderman from the Third Ward to the council. That decision, though, was put on hold for another round of interviews. The council interviewed six candidates who applied after Alderman Jim Anderson handed in his resignation after 11 years on the council. There is one year left on his term, which the appointee would fill and then have to run in November and be elected if they would like to keep the seat.
