It’s apple harvest time at the Detroit Lakes Library

We’ve all heard the old proverb “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and recent research continues to uphold the truth of that adage. According to an article by Jeanelle Boyer and Rui Hai Liu, who are affiliated with the Department of Food Science and Institute of Comparative and Environmental Toxicology at Cornell University, those in the study who consumed low amounts of fruits and vegetables were twice as likely to have cancer compared to those who ate high amounts of fruits and vegetables.
