Illinois governor arrested in Obama successor probe

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested this morning on charges of conspiring to get financial benefits through his authority to appoint a U.S. senator to fill the vacancy left by Barack Obama’s election as president. The U.S. attorney involved said 'we make no allegations' that President-elect Barack Obama, a U.S. senator from Illinois, was aware of any alleged scheming in by the arrested governor.
