Weather puts a damper on deer openers

Wind, rain, snow and way too much standing corn — especially in northeastern North Dakota — combined to throw a wrench into opening weekend deer-hunting success for many hunters on both sides of the Red River. The firearms deer season opened at noon Friday in North Dakota and a half-hour before sunrise Saturday in Minnesota.Word count: 723
