Equine eventing: Equine eventing, also called combined training, is new to the North Dakota Horse Park. Eventing is an equestrian triathlon sport that consists of three phases: dressage, cross-country jumping and stadium jumping. The challenge for horses and riders is to demonstrate that a supremely fit horse, capable of completing the cross-country phase on time, also has the training to perform in a relaxed and precise manner. The event is set for 8 a.m. July 13 at the North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo. It’s free and open to the public. For more information, call (701) 261-9949 or (218) 770-7700 or log on to aeerfargo.org.
