Lawmaker wants to preserve American Indian languages

BEMIDJI, Minn. — A Minnesota state senator said American Indian languages could become extinct unless language immersion programs are renewed. Senator Mary Olson, Bemidji, said there’s a need for immersion programs and textbooks written in Ojibwe.
