A march for unity

Published 05/16/2008, Grand Forks Herald

More than 100 people marched across the UND campus Thursday afternoon, the words “Freedom Walk” scrawled across the backs of their T-shirts and carrying a single message: Intolerance won’t be tolerated on this campus. The chant “What do we want? Diversity. When do we want it? Now!” rippled through the marchers at first, but soon dwindled into the quiet hum of murmuring voices, the occasional shout of a child, bird chatter and the buzz of passing vehicles.
