The pond between Holes 9 and 18 still had a thin layer of ice. The temperature was 50 degrees, with bone-chilling winds gusting to 36 mph. No, conditions weren’t ideal when Jerry Zimney teed up his ball at 12:15 p.m. Monday to become King’s Walk’s first golfer of 2008.
