-- Marion Gibbs Galland, who as a member of Virginia's House of Delegates in the 1960s introduced gun control, school desegregation and youth sentencing reform bills, died of respiratory arrest Aug. 5 at her home at Goodwin House Baileys Crossroads in northern Virginia. She was 93 and had cancer.
