Today is Bastille Day, the date in 1789 when a mob stormed a prison in Paris and began the French Revolution. This event is now marked with celebration for anyone who is French or of French descent. On a horticulture note, today also marks the half-way point of the meteorological summer (June, July and August).Word count: 911
