The City of Grand Forks honors several employees who have marked employment anniversaries or recently been hired.

Chad Jacobson celebrates 5 years as a fire fighter. Originally from Roseau, MN, Jacobson is graduate of Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN. Danny Pemberton is a Police Officer for the city of Grand Forks for the past 5 years. Pemberton is an UND alumnus. He is a native of Hallock, MN. Bruce Weymier has worked for the city of Grand Forks for the past 15 years. Weymier is a Captain with the GF Fire Department. Weymier is originally from Milwaukee, WI. Jim Aamodt has completed 15 years with Grand Forks Public Transit. Aamodt is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, MN. Diane Stanislowski has worked for the city of Grand Forks for the past 20 years, most recently in the City Administrator’s office. Mark Nelson has been with Grand Forks Police Department for 25 years. He was recently promoted to Captain. Nelson is a graduate of Minot State University. Helen Gibbens is an Accountant Technician in the Finance Department. She has worked for the City of Grand Forks for the past 25 years. Gibbens home town is Cavalier, ND. Bruce Wirkus has completed 35 years with the Grand Forks Street Department. Wirkus is a Senior Equipment Operator. He graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks. Lisa Nelson Beauchamp has recently joined the Grand Forks Public Health Department as a Registered Nurse. Beauchamp received her nursing degree from UND. She is from Tioga, ND. Chris Engen was recently hired as an Electrical Technician. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School. Engen is a Northland Community and Technical College alumnus. Jason Sonterre has recently started employment in the GF Public Works Department as an Equipment Operator. Sonterre is a Grand Forks native. He previously worked as a brick layer.
