The City of Grand Forks Honors Several Employees Who Have Marked Employment Anniversaries, Retirements, or Recently Been Hired

Greg Hoover celebrates 10 years as the Urban Development Department Director. Hoover is a native of Davenport, IA and graduated from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining the City, he was the Assistant Director of Community & Economic Development in Davenport, IA. Ray Skari has also worked for the city for the past 10 years. He is a Senior Firefighter with the Grand Forks Fire Department. A native of Grand Forks, Skari graduated from Central High and Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks. Peter O'Neill, a Grand Forks native, marks 40 years with the City. O'Neill has worked his way through the ranks of the Grand Forks Fire Department and has served as Fire Chief since 1999. He is a graduate of Central High and Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks. Karen Salwey was recently hired as an Administrative Specialist in the Public Works Department. Originally from Larimore, ND, Salwey worked for Ecolab in Grand Forks before joining the City.
