Dave Green stood in a field of wheat. Dew clung to the thigh-high plants, and mosquitoes swarmed in the still, early morning air on Thursday. What he saw in the field was mostly encouraging. The wheat, though green as cabbage and weeks from harvest, was thriving.Word count: 571
