Protecting Leech Lake is top priority

In 2004, Eurasian water milfoil was discovered in harbors on the southern shoreline of Leech Lake. Minnesota Department of Natural Resources officials spot-treated those locations with herbicides. It appears, however, that the Eurasian water milfoil has won the battle as other patches have been spotted.
