Villa Vista ski resort was going strong at Turtle River State Park near Arvilla, N.D., 50 years ago, but in January 1963, it needed more snow to stay open. Strong winds had blown away every inch of snow at the park. Ralph Lloyd, manager of Villa Vista, said it would open as soon as there was more snow
