UND BASEBALL: Unlikely power keeps Thome a winner

UND pitcher Andrew Thome’s streak of consecutive scoreless innings ended at 24 on Friday afternoon, but the unexpected power of second baseman Michael Anastasi kept the freshman hurler on a winning roll. Anastasi’s first career home run high into the wind in the seventh inning lifted the Sioux to a 3-2 win over Houston Baptist in the opener of a four-game Great West Conference series at Kraft Field.
