Fighting Sioux nickname issues belong in state court, North Dakota tells federal court

North Dakota state officials have asked a federal court to not “entangle itself in state law issues” if voters reject the June 12 referendum on the Fighting Sioux nickname and thereby endorse repeal of the nickname mandate adopted by the Legislature last spring.
