N.D. STATE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT CONSOLATION: Bismarck High, Minot win

Bismarck Century had nearly twice as many shots on goal as Minot on Thursday in the consolation semifinals of the North Dakota state boys hockey tournament. But Magicians freshman goalie Ethan Pardon stole the win from the Patriots. Pardon, who didn’t start in the quarterfinals, finished with 35 saves as Minot beat Century 5-4 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena’s Olympic rink. Minot will play Bismarck High in the fifth-place game today at 9:30 a.m. at the Olympic rink.Word count: 343
