Stormy Monday leads to rash of traffic deaths in western Minnesota, N.D.

Days like Monday are becoming increasingly rare, Minnesota Department of Public Safety spokesman Nathan Bowie said, but it doesn’t make them any less tragic. Snowy and blustery conditions played a role in at least seven roadway fatalities in western Minnesota, as many as the state has seen in a single day in nearly two years. And a North Dakota teen died Monday in a head-on crash on slippery roads near Valley City, N.D.
