After joining three other Republican state senators in voting against discussion of extending unemployment compensation to locked-out American Crystal Sugar workers, North Dakota State Sen. Terry Wanzek, R-Jamestown, said lawmakers need to “keep our focus” on the small number of pressing issues designated for the current special legislative session (“Republicans: Crystal issue too complicated for special session,” Page A1, Nov. 8).
