'A hard pill to swallow': Fordville, N.D., grocery-butcher-hardware store closes

When Curt Iverson hung up his apron early last week, closing the Fordstore and Trustworthy Hardware, it marked the end of an era. For the first time in its 106-year history, Fordville is without a grocery store. The grocery-butcher-hardware store, including the buildings and all of the equipment, will be offered for sale at an auction Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
