ALWAYS IN SEASON: Iconic birds of November more visible

Unlike most other months, November has its emblematic birds. The rough-legged is the great hawk of November, a big, beautiful bird that can be abundant in open country. Another is the tundra swan, an even bigger bird. But not all of November’s birds are big birds. This is also the time to watch for American tree sparrows.
