3M says chemical levels down in Mississippi River fish

Mississippi River fish now carry a lower amount of a chemical manufactured by the 3M Corp., according to a report by the company. Levels of PFOS -- perfluorooctane sulfonate -- have dropped by as much as half in four species of fish, according to the report. The drop occurred between 2007 and 2009 in fish found in Pool 2, a section of the Mississippi near Hastings.
