HELP WANTED: Plenty of jobs, not enough skilled workers

North Dakota and Minnesota are hiring, but thousands of open jobs remain unfilled because of a shortage of trained and experienced workers needed to fill positions in health care, transportation, skilled trades and information technology, among other fields. The trend is playing out across the U.S., even as the national unemployment rate hovers around 9 percent.
