Heat wave blankets region, but end in sight

Grand Forks, Polk counties under excessive heat warning; part of region in heat advisory
The heat wave plaguing millions across the United States, prompting heat advisories and warnings in 17 states, is expected to last until the end of the week. In the Grand Forks area, the hot, sticky weather is forecast to produce heat index values of 113 degrees Tuesday afternoon, down a few degrees from earlier forecasts. But there is an end in sight for our area.
