N.D. spring pheasant crowing count declines 14 percent from 2010

North Dakota spring pheasant crowing counts were down 14 percent statewide. By region, crowing counts were down 17 percent in the northwest, 30 percent in the southeast and 36 percent in the northeast, where there is less pheasant habitat and a marginal population. The only increase was in the southwest, where crowing counts were up 5 percent from last year.
