Minneapolis lake named for slavery supporter draws fire

As a U.S. senator from South Carolina in the 1800s, John C. Calhoun said slavery was not evil, but a positive good. A Minneapolis man spoke out at a park board hearing this April, then filed a petition with the board this week. He says the lake should be renamed.Word count: 598
