Manitoba flood-fighters gain on rivers

There was a sense of optimism Sunday as the Manitoba government assessed the weekend’s flood-fighting and, although Emergency Measures Minister Steve Ashton said he needs 100 more soldiers, he indicated the province is getting an upper hand on the Assiniboine River for the first time in a week.
