N.D. House defeats tax cut for charitable gambling

The North Dakota House voted 48-46 today to defeat the tax overhaul bill. Charities that use gambling to raise money now pay several state taxes. The defeated bill would have scrapped the taxes and imposed a 1 percent tax on all money wagered.
