Two Minnesota lawmakers to propose 10-cent deposit on cans, bottles

Under a bill that will be introduced next week, two Minnesota DFLers propose to attach a 10-cent deposit on most bottles and cans containing beverages such as soft drinks and beer. Consumers would get their money back when they turn in the empty containers. "In an environment where you have a $5 billion hole, this generates $90 million annually," said Rep.
