UPDATE: Storm diminishes; 1-3 inches or less snow expected in valley

The winter storm forecast today for the northern Red River Valley has diminished overnight. The latest National Weather Forecast calls for 3 to 5 inches of snow today in the northern Red River Valley and 1 to 3 inches along and south of a line from Devils Lake through Grand Forks and Thief River Falls.
