Christopher Deery, Fargo, letter: GOP put vets’ program on chopping block

A few days ago, the Republican-controlled North Dakota House of Representatives passed a spending resolution that reflects its priorities. At 4:40 a.m. when the gavel fell, the vote was 235-189 for the bill that would slash at least $61 billion from federal programs and agencies. Not one Democrat voted for it, and three Republicans opposed it as well.
