- “The King Is Dead,” (Capitol, 3½ stars): With 2009’s proggy “The Hazards of Love,” the Decemberists’ leader, Colin Meloy, went all-in with his fanciful British folk fixation, spinning a rock opera about fairy queens and shape-shifting woodsmen that made for an arduous listen.
