Q. I have been taking vitamin D supplements, but recently the dose I take was reduced by my doctor because my lab results showed I had too much in my body. I read often of advice to get 800 to 1,000 international units or more of vitamin D with no mention of the dangers of too much. How much vitamin D should one take?
