N.D. pheasant preview: 'Ph-ire' up for pheasants

There’s cause for optimism when North Dakota’s regular pheasant season opens Saturday. Despite a 6 percent increase in spring crowing counts from 2009, good production picked up the slack, and roadside surveys in July and August tallied an increase in pheasant numbers.
