‘Economic implications are huge’ for F-M flood project, fed official says

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Supporters of a plan to build a $1.46 billion Red River diversion heard mixed messages at two Monday hearings. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers leaders sounded much in support of the project, but a repre-sentative from the Office of Management and Budget was much more cautious, saying it was “far too early” in the budget process to make any promises.
