Storms drop hail, lots of rain across region

Published 05/23/2010, Grand Forks Herald

Severe thunderstorms rumbled through eastern North Dakota late Saturday and early today, dropping hail as large as 1.75 inches in diameter at Golden Lake near Hatton, N.D. The same storm system sent bad weather across the Northern Plains, causing a child's death in Omaha and creating tornadoes near Aberdeen, S.D., that damaged property but no injuries that were reported. More thunderstorms are expected after midnight Sunday and throughout Monday in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
