Federal judge voids some Minnesota campaign spending rules
A federal judge declared Friday that Minnesota’s restrictions on independent expenditures by corporations on behalf of political candidates are unconstitutional, siding with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. The chamber sued to assert its free speech rights after a U.S. Supreme Court decision in January that struck down similar restrictions on the federal level.Word count: 478
