Pembina and western Polk counties issue burn bans

Dry conditions prompt fire danger warnings for most of northeastern N.D.
Any person who willfully violates a North Dakota countywide burning ban established by this resolution is guilty of a Class B Misdemeanor, punishable by 30 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,000 and restitution of fire suppression costs may be sought from the court.
