Fifty years ago today -- Feb. 10, 1941 -- the 164th Infantry Regiment was called to active duty. The unit had members living in nearly every North Dakota community. Nearly 2,000 of them were called to duty, training in Fargo until Feb. 26 and 27, when they were shipped off by troop trains to Camp Claiborne in Louisiana.
