MARILYN HAGERTY: Toastmasters help one another in art of public speaking

It’s uh, like ah, like well, ah …. I’m nervous. Most people feel their heart racing and their palms sweating when they think of standing before an audience and making a speech. But members of three Toastmaster Clubs here in Grand Forks say it doesn’t have to be that way. Sure, you might always feel pressure when you are called up to speak. With some training and constructive criticism, most anyone can learn to speak to groups.
