Apartment vacancies remain low in Grand Forks despite new complexes

In fact, there are now 1,086 three-bedroom apartments in Grand Forks. John Herz, deputy city assessor, said Grand Forks now has 8,811 apartments — a 12.6 percent increase from the 7,824 here in March 2006. But even though there are more units, most apartments still are rented out after a brief vacancy and the best time to look for a new place just might be the early summer.Word count: 851
