LAKE OF THE WOODS The walleye and sauger bite remains steady in 25 to 30 feet of water during the day although the bite, overall, has been slower than it was before Christmas. The recent cold snap has likely been a factor. There has been some shallower walleye action reported on the south shore early and late in the day. A plain hook and minnow or bright-colored jigging spoons seem to be working best.Word count: 1301
