GF County rancher faces six criminal charges of loose cattle
While his peers fish, golf and play bridge, 75-year-old Lloyd Thorsgard says he’d rather spend time with his “mama cows.” “They’re my retirement cows,” he said. “I have extremely good calf drops.” Despite the bliss of having roughly 600 productive mamas, Thorsgard has lately experienced heartache when it comes to his cattle: Grand Forks County prosecutors have charged him with six counts of letting his livestock run at large.
