North Dakota deer outlook: Standing corn the wild card — again

According to Roger Johnson, big game supervisor for the Game and Fish Department in Devils Lake, the statewide decline in the deer kill last fall wasn’t significant enough to suggest a noticeable decrease in the population. Numbers in the northeast also looked good during the aerial surveys Game and Fish conducts every winter to sample populations.Word count: 632
