From black flies to wind and rain, canoe trip serves up more adversity than previous years
Normally, the weather is quite perfect in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park in late July. We got there July 12 and shoved the canoe off and got into the old familiar rhythm of paddling and seeing and smelling and all that goes with this extreme close-to-nature experience. With a week off ahead of us and limitless country to paddle through, we were excited.
